Biography

Rose-Noemie Cecire (aka Cecyre) was born March 26, 1874 in St Joachim, Châteauguay, Quebec, Canada. Her parents were Benjamin Cecire and his wife, Marguerite (Montpetit) Cecire. The 1881 Canadian Census confirms her birth year, address and parents.

Between 1891 and 1901, Rose-Noemie Cecire married Alfred Laberge, b: 1866 in St. Joachim, and the couple settled in St. Joachim. On the 1911 Census their oldest son was 16, making him born in 1894. Thus, the couple must have married around 1893.

In fact, Roman Catholic parish registers cited on the Nos Origines Genealogy website, confirm that Alfred Laberge, 27, married Rose-Noemi Cecire (aka Cecyre), 19, in St. Joachim, Châteauguay, Quebec, on October 17, 1893.

By 1911, Alfred and Noemie (Cecyre) Laberge headed a household of 8 people as follows:
