Parentage: The birth source cited above lists the parents of Jonathan (birth date 8 Feb 1685 in Boston) as John and Mary Center. The profile for Jonathan at FamilySource lists John Center III (1660-1706) and Ruth Todd (1657-1716) as the parents[3] However, there is a source that states Ruth Todd and Ensign John Senter were the parents of John Center, born 8 Aug 1682.[4] However, given the information below, this may not be reliable.
"Early Settlers of Rowley, Massachusetts" states "John Center (Senter) was from Boston and by his wife Mary had John (8 Aug 1682); Jonathan (8 Feb 1685) and by wife Ruth had Eleanor (6 Jul 1687), Ruth (bp 15 May 1692), Sarah (20 Jul 1695) and Jeremiah (20 Jan1697).[5]
It seems that the first John passed away before Jonathan was born in 1685 and Jonathan (for lack of any other sources) is the son of Mary (Unknown) Center.
There is no death source for Jonathan. The date is from his FamilySearch Profile and is it thought he passed away in Middletown.
The rest of the information for Jonathan appears to be well sourced. He married Martha Markham and they had eleven children.[6]
