(Last Saturday evening form 31 Oct 1902 would be 25 Oct 1902) (RIR)
[3] Last Saturday evening Ettie Wertz Pote, wife of Charles Z. Pote, of Petoskey, Mich., "fell into that dreamless sleep that kisses down her eyelids still." She was a daughter of John A. Wertz, of Bedford. On April 9, 1891, she was united in marriage to Charles Z. Pote. In early life she united with the Presbyterian church, of which she was an ever faithful member up to the time of her death. Her presence was gracious and impressive and at a glance any one could see that she was a woman who would be sure to exert a commanding influence in whatever circle her lot might be cast. She constantly illustrated the beauty of a modest, simple Christian life. Her sunny, appreciative, charitable disposition made her a welcome guest in the circles of both young and old. On Tuesday her remains were interred in the cemetery at Petoskey, on the shore of Lake Michigan. To those who knew her best it is confidently believed that she summers high in bliss among the hills of God." A FRIEND OF HER CHILDHOOD.
