John was born in 1864. He was the son of George Cessna and Elizabeth Diehl. He passed away in 1892. In the 1870 census John was in Bedford, Bedford, Pennsylvania.[1]

John H. Cessna Dead
About four o'clock this morning, John Hughes Cessna died at the home of his father George W. Cessna on the Joseph Thompson farm near Tipton, in Antis township, of consumption after a lingering illness. He was born April 18, 1864, being in consequence 26 years, 9 months and 24 days of age. The deceased livid with his father in this place about a year ago and his death will cause sorrow to his many Tyrone friends. His mother, one brother and one sister preceded him to the world of eternity. He is survived, besides his father, by his stepmother and step-brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at his late home about noon on Sunday to be conducted by Rev. J. B. Stein, of Bellwood, and on Way Passenger the remains will be conveyed to Altoona the interment to be made in Fairview cemetery.
