William probably died, returned to England or left the colony before 25 May 1667 when he was not mentioned in his brother Humphrey's will who gave a small sum of money to William's only child Mary. William was living with his brother Humphrey at Old Fields in 1640. William and his father were in Boston in 1643. It is also possible that the William Chadbourne who had a land grant in Portsmouth, RI in 1642/3 was this William as a William Chadbourne was admitted an inhabitant of Portsmouth 25 Feb. 1642/3. There is also speculation that he may be the William Chadbourne who settled in Cecil County, MD c.1669. A William Chadbourne married 28 Nov. 1674 Susanna Faxon and was deputy surveyor of Baltimore and Somerset Counties in 1675 and died 1 Aug. 1678. This William and Susanna had a son Amos who was born about 1671.
