Fay E. Pugliese Known for unfailing love and humor SUTTON - Fay Elaine (Chadwick) Pugliese, our brave and beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, lost her battle with pneumonia. After her successful treatment for cancer, her body was unable to match her strong will to fight off this illness. She died at peace with herself, with her family surrounding her on Sept. 14, 2007. She was 70 years old.
Fay was born in Concord on May 27, 1937, to Harvey and Evangeline (Levasseur) Chadwick. She lived in and attended Sutton Mills and South Sutton Schools from first through eighth grades, and graduated from New London High School in 1953. Fay married her husband and love of her life, Mike, on ..they went on to have four children together, and they have seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, including one on the way.
She was a caring, loving, supportive wife and mother. Her love for her family was unconditional, and her kids knew that she was really just joking when she told them to go play on the yellow line. She was always quick with a laugh, a wry comment, or a bit of bossiness. Her heart was as big as the moon, and she was one of the most generous people you could ever hope to meet. We will all miss her unfailing love and her humor.
Fay had done many things in her life, including many years of working for the Kearsarge School District, both in food service at the High School and maintenance at the Sutton Elementary School and High School. She loved all her "kids," and followed many of them from first grade to graduation.
She belonged to the Sutton Historical Society and was a member of its Board of Directors. She was a trustee of the Sutton Free Library. Fay had many hobbies and interests. In the spring you could find her planting and weeding her gardens. In the summer, she loved to go camping in the White Mountains with her family and watching baseball. The high point of her summers was the family reunion cookout that brought friends and relatives from far and near. She was overjoyed when her beloved Red Sox won the World Series in 2004. When the weather turned cold, she would stay inside with a good book, a crossword puzzle, or her painting supplies and wish for spring to return. She also loved football and cheered on the New England Patriots.
She loved to jump in the car with Mike and run away for the day on an adventure, as long as it included lunch along the way. She enjoyed watching the birds, foxes, and other wildlife that wandered through the yard. She loved all animals, and will be sorely missed by her feline friend, Leo.
Fay is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Michael C. Pugliese of Sutton; two sons, Michaele Pugliese of Contoocook and Robert Pugliese and his wife, Ruth Littlefield, of New London; two daughters, Fay Smith and her husband, Ed, of Sutton and Nancy Milbury and her husband, Ted, of Contoocook.
