Biography

According to data communicated to Nichol-198 by his brother-in-law Steve Doyle (grandson of Marley-412), Lucy was born in Athlone, Ireland, west of Dublin. The information provided consisted of two typewritten sheets listing births, marriages and deaths in the Biddiscombe family. As every entry is in chronological order, the original source was likely a family Bible.

Birth

4 FEB 1836
Ireland

In the census of 1911[1], we learn that Francis Biddescombe was 82 years old and lived with his wife Lucy, son Llewellyn and Llewellyn's wife and three young children in Northfield Parish

In this census, we learn when Francis and his wife immigrated to Canada. Lucy, his wife, was born in Ireland in February, 1836. Francis was born in England in August, 1892. The entire family are practicing Roman Catholics. Francis is a farmer and Llewellyn works in the lumber industry. All of the adults can read and write.

Also, for some reason, Janie Ryal, is listed in this census as James R. and a male. The birth date is the same, but the name and gender are incorrect.

Death

1915[2]

His son, James Rhyall Biddiscombe was born in 1870. If Lucy was 20 at marriage and ten years into the marriage when Jacob was born, then he'd have been born about 1840 (plus or minus 10 years, I guess). 1870-30= 1840 for approx year of birth of Jacob.
