Ernest Taylor Chadwick (Service number 4/939 ) served in the NZ Army durinh World War 1. He was a Second Corporal with the New Zealand Engineers . A carpenter in civilian life, he gave his next of kin as H.T. Chadwick (father), of 62 Walker Street, Dunedin, He embarked aboard HMNZT 24 or HMNZT 25 or HMNZT 26 the Vessels Maunganui or Tahiti or Aparima to Suez, Egypt . He enlisted as a Sapper in the New Zealand Field Engineers 5th Reinforcements . He was Killed in Action, 29 August 1918 in Bapaume, France and is buried at the Beaulencourt British Cemetery, in Ligny-Thilloy, Pas-de-Calais, France(grave reference III. G. 4 ) He was possibly the husband of Mrs. E. T. Chadwick, of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. [3]
