Walter was born in 1915. He was the son of Leslie Chaffey and Harriet Smith. He passed away in 1980. Buried at Cheltenham Memorial Cemetery with his wife Clarice.
Engagement announced 22nd October 1938 to Clarice Muriel Parsons, 3rd daughter of Mr and Mrs F Parsons, Armadale. Married 1940.
Uncle Wal was an avid Collingwood supporter and in later years loved his Lawn Bowls, as did my Uncle Harry and Auntie Beryl. (My wedding caused a dilema as it interferred with their Saturday Bowls Competition!)
My last memories before he died, were when he and Clarice came to visit us at my mothers home before i was married. Uncle Wal died from Prostate Cancer and I went with my mother to visit him shortly before he passed away.
Uncle Wal is missing from the attached photo (must be the photographer) but Auntie Clarice is standing 4th lady from the left.
