George Chalmers was born in 1771.[1]
He was united in marriage 07 December at Wemyss, Fife, Scotland to Christian Wilson.[2]
George was a Scotch Presbyterian, "a devout man, often conducted the services at the kirk in absence of the minister, and delivered the sermon."[3]
The following is from History of Newbury, Vermont:
William and George were two of the four sons of George and Christian (Wilson) Chalmers. One of their two sisters m. Alexander Blackie and came to America, but returned to Scotland. This family were Scotch Presbyterians, and connected with that of Rev. Dr. Thomas Chalmers. The father of William and George, a devout man, often conducted the services at the kirk in absence of the minister, and delivered the sermon. These two brothers settled in Newbury, and reared large families.[4]
