Willard was born in 1909. He is the son of Harry Chamberlain. In the 1910 census we find his father Harry T Chamberlain (age in 1910 was 32 putting his birth year about 1878) with birthplace listed as Missouri. He lived on 30 Center Street, Hornell Ward 3, Steuben, New York. He was married to Jennette Chamberlain - they had been married 4 years, implying a marriage in circa 1906. He father and mother were born in New York and his native language was English. He then worked as the Foreman in a Railroad Shop.[1]
One child is listed in 1910, Willard B Chamberlain, who was 5 months old at the time of the census.[1] His wife Janette is shown as being born in New York, while her father was born in New Jersey.[1]
His brother, Harry T was born in 1912 in New York. Harry T. Chamberlain passed away in 2001.[2]
In the 1920 census we find Willard B Chamberlain (age 10) living with his mother, Jeanette H Chamberlain (age 40), Harry T Chamberlain ( age 40) and a brother, Harry T Chamberlain (age 7).[3] They reside on West 6th St., Dunkirk Ward 2, Chautauqua, New York. His father was born in Missouri, but his paternal grandfather was born in New York. His mother was born in New York, but his maternal grandfather was born in Massachusetts. His father is working as the assistant superintendent of a locomotive works.[3] [4]
In the 1930 census we find Willard B Chamberlain (age 20) living with his mother, Jeanette H Chamberlain (age 52), Harry T Chamberlain ( age 49) and a brother, Harry T Chamberlain (age 17).[5][6]
In the 1940 census we find his brother, Harry T Chamberlin, Jr. living with his parents Harry T Chamberlain (age 59) and Janette H Chamberlain (age 63) on Maurelwood Drive, New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. He had finished 4 years of high school education and was working as a heat treatment worker at a wire manufacturing company and earning $800/year. His father was working as a superintendent at a tool manufacturing plant earning $4500/year and was born in Missouri. His mother was born in New York.[7]
