Biography

Leonard was born in 1893. He was the son of Charles Chamberlain and Hannah Freeman.

He served in WW1, NZEF, Sergeant, NZ Rifle Brigade, 2nd Battalion, enlisting in 1915. He was killed in action at Bapaume, France, and is buried in Bapaume Communal Cemetary, Pas-de-Calais, France
