Alva Lloyd Chambers was born at the family farm on 16 Jan 1915 in Le Sueur County, MN as the youngest son of Arthur Chambers and Minnie (Clemons) Chambers. His paternal grandfather, Thomas Chambers, came to Waterville from England in 1867.[1]
He and Ruth Berness Carlson were married on 27 Oct 1934 in Nashua, IA.[1][2]
On 16 Oct 1940 when he registered for the WWII Draft in Waterville, Le Sueur, MN, he was 25 and working as a farmer and described as being 5 7, 150 lb, light brown complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.[3]
He went on to live and farm in the Waterville area for the rest of his life. He enjoyed fishing, auctions, and wintered in Texas and wa a member of the North Waeca Lutheran Church in Waseca County.[1]
Lloyd died at age 100 on 8 Mar 2015 in Waterville, Le Sueur County, MN and was buried at the Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife -Ruth Bernice (Carlson) Chambers, and siblings - Evelyn Chambers, Elva Chambers, Aileen (Chambers) Kurth and Thomas Edison.[1]
