Will Abstract
John Chambers of NY left a will dated 20 Jan 1764, probate 1 May naming his wife Ann as the daughter of Col. Jacobus Van Cortlandt, Corporation of Trinity Church. He names Augustus Van Cortland whom he brought up; John of brother in law Peter Jay; Mrs Eva (Van Cortlandt) White sister of aforesaid Augustus; her daughter Ann White; James Van Cortlandt and Frederick Van Cortlandt, brother of Augustus. Mentions Col Vincent Mathews, John Bartow of Westchester and Albert Moore. Land in Cheescock Patent, Orange Co. houses, lots in NYC. Wife sole Exe. [1]
