Biography
Birth
William was born in 1780, the son of Joseph Chambers and Amy Thompson. [1]
Marriage and Children
He married, in 1808, Hannah Mitchell, and they first settled in New Garden, Chester County, Pennsylvania; later they moved to Philadelphia, Pa. They had a family of nine children:[1]
- Lucy Ann, b.1809, d.1873 unmarried
- Joseph, b.1811, married Elizabeth Abbott
- Thomas, b.1813, married Ann Eliza Myers
- Elizabeth, b.1815, married Henry Gilroy
- Sarah, b.1818, d.1819
- John, b.1820, d.1822
- Jacob, b.1822, married Jane Bardis
- William, b.1827, married Martha Jane Sharpe (nee Jamison)
- Hannah, b.1829, d.1833
Death
He passed away in 1845. [1]
