Biography

Maria was born about 1747. She is the daughter of Marinus Chambers and Blandina De Lange.

Note: Identification of parents depends largely on sponsorship of her children’s baptisms. Identification of mother more uncertain and used for birth date estimate. Note baptism of Dinah in 1776, but cf. Maria in 1773.

Identification of husband and wife corroborated by familial sponsorship of their children.

Maria Chambers is named as wife of Abm Depue in the DAR Patriot Index. And the mother of Dinah who married Hendricus Hornbeck^[1]
