Biography
Stephanus was born before 1774. He is the son of Anthony Chamness and Rachel Beeson and was a bachelor. "Stephanus was a cripple; came to Wayne Co., Ind., with his brothers, lived to an old age, and for some cause was taken into the home of Joshua and Margaret Murphy and cared for during his latter days"[1].
