Biography

Raymond was born about 1891. He was the son of Charles Champion and Florence Reilly.

He emigrated from South Africa to England.

UK Census Event Date 1911: Recorded as a Boarder in Eastbourne, Sussex, England. Aged 19 and single.

Occupation: UNDERGRADUATE

His mother died in South Africa in 1912.

In 1918 he was recorded in the military, at Inns of Court Officer Training Corps.[1] He was aged 26.

Raymond returned to South Africa where at the age of 28 he married 18 year old Marguerite Emmeline Meintjes on 13 October 1920 in Johannesburg.[2]

They had at least four children (three sons and one daughter).

He passed away in 1965 at the age of 72. [3]
