Philemon's son Eli Chance married Elizabeth Cagle and not Elizabeth Allen. Eli Chance married Elizabeth Cagle in 1814 in Amite County, MS and Eli Chance, son of Vincent Chance, married Elizabeth Alllen in 1816 in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. The two Eli Chance men were first cousins.
