Catharine (Katharine) was born in Thurlaston, Leicestershire and baptised there on 03 Apr 1776, the daughter of Edward and Letitia Chandler [1], (her brother Richard had been born the previous year).
On 18 Feb 1811 she married Richard Messenger of Shearsby at Barwell, Leicestershire. At the time her residence was in Potters Marston [2].
In 1841 she was living in the household of her son Richard Messenger in Church Street, Shearsby [3]
In 1851, a widow and farmer of 150 acres and with 5 labourers, she was still living with son Richard and daughter Letitia in Church Street, Shearsby [4]. George Clowse (14) lived and worked on her farm. Her immediate neighbours were John Goode and Ellen Herbert.
Catharine (Chandler) Messenger was born in Leicestershire, England.
