Biography

Wallace was born about the time his parents' marriage broke up. His mother was living in San Diego with her daughter Gladys in 1920. It is unknown where Wallace was in 1920.

In 1930 Wallace was a ward at the Turner Memorial Home for Boys in Turner, Marion, Oregon. He was age 14.[1]

He married Esther J.

By 1935, according to the 1940 Census, Wallace was living in San Diego. He was a gas station attendant. His wife was Esther J. Chandler, age 24, b. Oregon, a resident of Marion County, Oregon in 1935. This implies that Wallace and Esther were married in Oregon around that time.[2]

A Wallace G. Chandler served in the United States Marine Corps at the San Diego base in 1932-1933. He was a Company Runner.[3]

The obituary references a "Shir-N-Lee's" Gift Shop in Alpine, California.

Wallace Chandler was Treasurer of the El Capitan PTA in Alpine, California, in 1960.[4]
