Ambrose Chandler was born in Appalachia, in Georgia.

Ambrose Bennett Chandler was born on 15 May 1862 in Carroll, Georgia, United States, son of Cpl Hiram Bennett Chandler (1831 - 1900) and Frances Marian (Holloway) Chandler (1836 - ~1898).

His siblings were:

Ambrose married Alice Sophie Adams (1861 - 1934). Their children were:

  1. Warner Olen Chandler (1889 - 1912)
  2. Oliver Paul Chandler (1891 - 1938).

On the 1910 Census, he was listed as a 47-year-old, white male living in Cullman County, Alabama. He had been married for 29 years and only married once. He worked as a farmer on a general farm. He could read and write, and he owned his own home. According to this census, he and his mother were born in Georgia, and his father was born in South Carolina.

He died on February 7, 1923, in Cullman County, Alabama. He was buried at Emeus Cemetery in Logan, Cullman County, Alabama.

In 1934, he was listed in the death record of his wife, Alice Sophie Adams Chandler, as her husband.
