MRS. T. L. ROGERS. The death in a local private hospital last Thursday morning of Mrs. Rogers, wife of Cr. Thos. L. Rogers, of Goodman's Creek, came as a shock to a large circle of acquaintances not aware of the seriousness of the illness that had laid her aside for some months. As Miss Frances Chandler, deceased came to Bacchus Marsh from Beulah with the late Rev. and Mrs. C. A. Brewer whom she assisted in church activities, particularly Sunday school, where she taught for some years. Following her marriage she and her husband spent six years at Myrniong and then took up farming in Bacchus Marsh where she resided ever since. The late Mrs. Rogers reared a fine family and besides maintaining her close association with Anglican church activities, was in latter years a quiet but valued worker for the Patriotic Guild and Country Women's Association. Social movements at Coimadai also claimed her support and she capably shouldered her municipal responsibilities when her husband was Shire President. Local subscription lists for patriotic or charitable objects generally found her among the anonymous donors. That her lifespan was cut short when she was not much beyond her prime deepens the sympathy felt for the bereaved husband and family of two daughters and four sons, one of whom is in the A.I.F. Interment took place privately on Friday, when the officiating clergyman was Rev.J. A. Rowell.
