Caroline was born about 1828 based on census data. She is listed in the US Census for Banks County, Georgia in David's District, and is listed as a mulatto (mixed race.) She was living in the household with Green Chandler, presumably her husband or common law husband, who was listed as a black man.
The family is found in 1880 in Duluth in Gwinett County, Georgia, and again in 1900 Census for Arkansas in Stone, Arkansas. She passed away sometime around 1910.
She was most likely a former slave and most likely a slave for one of the Chandler families in the area, possibly Dudley J. Chandler of Madison County, or Dudley J. Chandler's father Sterling Chandler, or one of his uncles. Note that Caroline's husband, Green Chandler bears the same name as one of Dudley J. Chandler's uncles.
