Notes shared with Sandie Schwarz, from Gifford descendant Alick Gifford son of Raymond Gifford:

Gifford farm (still in the family today) located on HWY H, Bloomfield Township, Walworth County, Wisconsin

"The history of this Gifford farm is the original owner was William Densmore Chapin who came with his parents to Wisconsin and got a land grant from the US Government to purchase the property in 1839, we [Alick Gifford] have the original abstract for the farm showing this history. He was married twice but had no children so when he passed he willed the farm to his youngest sister Mariette Chapin who as you know married Ezra Gifford. I just found a paper showing Mariette Gifford deeded the farm to George Gifford on March 10, 1910. If Daniel [GIFFORD] farmed here I haven't anything showing this as since Ezra moved back and forth to Iowa so maybe his brother Daniel farmed here sometime in the years when William Chapin owned it or when Ezra and Mariette owned it. William Chapin lived in Lake Geneva part of his life so I figure he wasn't the one farming the land during his later years. So maybe between Ezra and Daniel they were farming it at different times, just guessing. There is also showing on early plat books that George's brother Charles C. Gifford owned land in two different locations one on the West side of Genoa City along County HWY B and the other along Spring Creek road just North of County HWY B maybe one of these is where Constant and Letitia Gifford farmed, again just guessing."
