Biography

Clara V. Chaplin was born about 1865 in Pennsylvania. She was the twin sister of Clarence, the child of John G. Chaplin and Hannah M. Guynn, the sister-in-law of Civil War veteran William Nesbitt of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and the aunt of Buffalo Soldier William C. Nesbit.

Her sister Florence married into the notable Nesbit family.
