He died, at the age of 67, on July 8, 1851 in Marion, Alabama. He is buried at the Chapman Family Cemetery, Perry County, Alabama.[1]

Jeri Brock reports that Abner was father of James Abner (1863-1962.) James Abner was the father of Jimmie Naomi (1905-1995). Jimmie was the mother of Ida Naudell (1920-2010). Naudell was the mother of Jeri.
