Biography
From the age given on his death, Edmund was born about 1831.
On 2nd September 1852, Elizabeth Simmons, of full age, married Edmund Henry Chapman, the ceremony taking place at St John's Church, Adelaide, South Australia. While Elizabeth's status as single was noted, Edmund's marital status was not. Their respective fathers are not mentioned. The marriage was registered in the Adelaide district, South Australia. [1]

His death was registered in the Adelaide district, South Australia, by Henry George Chapman, any status as a relation not recorded. At the time of his death, Edmund resided in Adelaide. Edmund, aged 40, was interred on 2nd April 1871 at the West Terrace Cemetery where his widow, Elizabeth, joined him 1893. On 26th September 1939, 26-year-old William Salter was interred in the same grave and, at the same time, a new right to interment was issued, expiring 31st December 2032. One hundred years and a day after Edmund's burial, on 3rd April 1971, the remains of 54-year-old Jessamine Salter were added. [4]
