Biography

Gordon was born in 1895, the son of Hervey Chapman and Mary Woolsey.

He was a Presbyterian pastor and missionary in Japan.

He married Katherine May Denman on May 3, 1921 in Berkeley. They had the following children:

  1. Clarence Wilfred "Bill" Chapman 1922-2020
  2. Mary Kay Chapman Wood 1924-1986
  3. Gordon Andrews Chapman 1925-2017
  4. Theodore Woolsey Chapman 1926-2012
  5. Margaret Lois Chapman Jacobson 1932-2018
  6. Charles Chapman

During World War II he served as a chaplain in Japanese internment camps in California.

He passed away in 1989. [1]
