John CHAPMAN was born about 1739. He married Catherine Towne or "Touze" 13 November 1767 in East Grinstead, Sussex, England [1] and died in May 1788 in East Grinstead, Sussex, England about age 49, and was buried on 25 May 1788 in St. Swithun's Churchyard, East Grinstead, Sussex, England. [2].
John may have been baptized 1739/40 at Worth, son of Thomas Chapman and Mary. If so the following baptisms may be his siblings': Thomas 1731, Mark 1734, Mary 1735, William 1737.
John and Catherine's children may be:
John 1768,
Mary 1770,
Elizabeth 1772,
Sarah 1775,
Sal 1776,
Hannah 1778,
Lucy 1781,
James and Thomas
1783,
William 1786 [3].
If John's father is Thomas his father might have been buried in 1754 in East Grinstead and his mother Mary the widow Mary Champan buried 1762 in East Grinstead.
