Winnifred Bessie Chapman was born in 1896 in Croydon, Surrey, England,[1][2][3][4] the daughter of Susannah Chapman and Edward Mansfield Chapman.[2][3][4]
Her birth was registered in the last quarter of 1896 in Croydon,[1] and she was baptised there on 7 February 1897.[2]
