Biography
Thomas was born on 17 March 1825, the son of Thomas, a wood turner.[1]
He was sponsored by the Children's Friends Society to come to Western Australia, arriving on 30 December 1835 on the Giraffe.[1]
Thomas first served Governor Stirling, then on Champion before going to Bunbury with Scott as a shepherd.[1]

- He married Selina Gardiner on 7 January 1849 at Australind.[2][3]
They had eleven children over 23 years.
Thomas farmed at Bunbury, and managed George Eliot's property "Hambledon". He was a pioneer settler at Lowden, "Rockhampton" where he died.[1]

Mr. Thomas George Chapman, an old resident of the Upper Preston, 73 years of age, was found dead is his bed on Monday morning. He was apparently in excellent health the preceding day.[4]
