John was baptised on 30 May 1805 in Dennis, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States. He was the son of John Chapman (1761-1820) and Hannah (Paine) Chapman (1765-1835).[1][2]
John married Hanah Hall on 22 February 1827 in Dennis, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.[3][4]
John's wife Hannah died in 1833, and the widower John married Anna A. Hopkins on 4 May 1833 in Dennis, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.[5]
Anna died in 1843, and the widower John married Hannah T Hopkins on 6 December 1846 in Orleans, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.[6]
In the 1850 census John (age 45) was in Dennis, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.[7]
