In the 1861 census Chisthopher (see notes; age 3) was the son of Thomas E Chapman in North Hylton, Durham, England.^[3]

In the 1881 census Philip (age 23) was the single brother of Abel Chapman in Silksworth Village, Silksworth, Durham, England.^[4]
