Biography

Beth Chapman was born in 1922 in Woollahra, NSW.

She enlisted in the RAAF in July, 1942 at Neutral Bay in Sydney. Beth married US airman Philip Bayer (b. 1923, Oregon, USA) in Brisbane in 1944[1]. They divorced (Beth did not want to leave Australia).

Beth married Thomas Ramsay, son of Thomas Ramsay and Ann Myers, in 1951, the marriage registered in Burwood, NSW[2]. They had a son and daughter.

Beth and Thomas lived in Sydney for some years but separated and later Beth moved to Adelaide to be close to her daughter Janet.

Beth died in Adelaide in 2002 and is buried (as Beth Chapman) with her mother Ola in Emmaville cemetery[3]. Her daughter Janet (1952-2003) is also buried in Emmaville.
