Biography

Cecil was born in 1852. He was the son of Henry Chapman and Priscilla Wakefield. Cecil, son of Henry Chapman & Priscilla Susannah, was born on 24 June 1852 and baptised on 5 September 1852 in Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk, England.[1]

In the 1861 census Maurice (age 8), Scholar, was a pupil in Leyton, Essex, England.[2]

In the 1871 census Cecil (age 18), Scholar, was the son of Priscilla S Chapman in Tonbridge, Kent, England.[3]

In the 1881 census Cecil (age 28), Barrister At Law Barr In Acl Practice, was a unmarried lodger in St Margaret And St John The Evangelist Westminster, London, Middlesex, England.[4]

In the 1891 census Cecil (age 38), Barrister At Law, was the single brother-in-law of Philip C Story in Islington, London, England.[5]

He was a barrister, a London County Councillor and a Metropolitan Police magistrate.[6]

He married his cousin, Adeline Mary Chapman. Cecil's marriage was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1899 in the St. George Hanover Square district.[7]

In the 1901 census Cecil (age 48), Stipendiary Magistrate, was the married head of household in City of London, Middlesex, England.[8]

In the 1911 census Cecil (age 58), Metropolitan Registrate, was the married head of household in London, England.[9]

Cecil's death (age 86) was registered in 1938 in London, England.[10] Cecil died on 23 June 1938 and his estate passed probate on 21 July 1938 in Surrey, England.[11]
