Christopher Chapman, draper, was the mayor of Hull, Yorkshire. He died on 11 December 1615 and was buried at Holy Trinity, Hull, on 13 December 1615 , Mr Christopher Chapman, alderman.[1]
His monumental inscription reads "Here lieth in Peace, Christopher Chapman, Draper, once Mayor of Kingston-upon-Hull, who died, in the Faith of Christ, the 11th Day of December, 1615".[2][3]
Research Notes
The marriage place shown as "Andaly" is probably intended as Anlaby, near Hull, where there was a prominent Legard family, but the name Lona E Legard seems highly unlikely for 1600. The marriage probably took place before 1601 as a son Christopher was born in that year.[4]
