2LT Charles Chapman Jr served in the United States Army Air Forces in World War II Service started: 25 Apr 1941 Unit(s): 36th Fighter Sq, 8th Fighter Gp, 5th Airforce Service ended: MIA 18 May 1942
Charles was born in 1918 to Charles Chapman and Jeanettte Mitchell. He went Missing in Action in May 1942 after a successful bombing mission. He is believed to have collided with a Japanese bomber. Charles had been assigned to the 5th Air Force, 8th Fighter Group, 36th Fighter Squadron.[1]
