Larry F. Chappell
Larry Folger "Bub" Chappell, 68, of 110 A, Trotter Road died Sunday.
Born in Pickens county, son of he late Vess and Lena Patterson Chappell, he was a textile employee and merchant, and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Cassell Chappell; three daughters, Mrs. Erline Powell, Mrs. Malone Reeves, and Mrs. Ellen Arnold of Pickens; three sons, Robert F. Chappell, of Liberty, and Folger and Gaines Chappell of Pickens; four sisters Mrs. Essie Gilstrap, Mrs. Bessie Gilstrap and Mrs. Lois Baker of Pickens, and Mrs Jessie Newton of Clemson; a brother, Freeman "Pet" Chappell of Pickens; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist, conducted by Revs. Garland Sentell, H. C. Couch, Jr., and Tom Jones. Burial was in church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Derrill Gilstrap, Vester Stephens, Wayne Chappell, Brackett Chappell, Scott Newton, Junior Chappell, Milford Hayes, and Dewayne Chappell.
Larry was born in 1904. He was the son of Pickney Chappell and Lena Patterson. He passed away in 1973.
