Welcome

I am pleased to confirm you as a member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

I would suggest starting with the How-to pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site

Happy tree climbing

Hello Greta,

Sorry it's taken me two years to acknowledge your welcome. I would say that I am still very weak in terms of understanding how to use this platform. A lot of my confusions can likely be alleviated by utilizing the How to pages and videos.

The dilemma that is rather holding me back is my biological father. He and my mother never married nor were they together after I was born. I've tried reaching out to him and he does not want contact. I'm fine with that. I know who his parents and grand parents were, and his grandparents have wikitree profiles. How do I enter his profile without identifying him and still be able to connect back to his grandparents? I would like to be able to link myself through to his mothers ancestry as it is fascinating. If you can help me get over this privacy hump it would be greatly appreciated. If need be I can let you know the existing profile numbers.

Thanks, Mark
