Biography

Fred was born in 1899, son of William Chappell and Mary Ackles. He died in 1966 of a myocardial infarction. .[1] [2]

Obituary

Amherst - Fred CHAPPELL, 66, of Tidnish Bridge died suddenly at Highland View Hospital Tuesday evening. Mr. Chappell was a boat builder and was in the lumber business. He was one of the oldest fisherman in the area. He was a member of the Westmorland Lodge AF and AM No. 44, Port Elgin and attended the United Church of Tidnish. Son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Burton Chappell of Tidnish, he lived all his life in that area. His wife, the former Pearl Agathe Helm; one son, John; three sisters, Rhoda, Amy and Carrie and one brother George are dead. Surviving are one daughter, Audrey of Robb, Alta; one son Keith of Sackville; three granddaughters; four sisters, Bertie (Mrs. Murray Siddall) of Aulac; Mrs. Greta Teed, Amherst; Mrs. Pearl Davidson, Tidnish; Miss Eileen Chappell, Amherst; and one brother, Claude of Tidnish Bridge. His body is at home at Tidnish, where the funeral service is Saturday at 2 pm. Rev. A.H. Moore of Amherst will officiate. Internment will be at the Tidnish Bridge Cemetery.
