1939 - John Williams dies, aged 76.
John William Chappelow, 76, pensioner, of Kurnell, a cave-dweller there for years, fell from a launch at The Pier, Botany Bay, and was drowned. A strong wind caused his launch to rock as Chappelow stepped from the wharf. Over balancing, he fell into the water (8)
