John was born in 1566. He passed away in 1611.
He is given a bequest in his fathers will in 1590.
The John Chappell baptised in Exeter in August 1567 was the son of William Chappell, not Thomas: https://www.findmypast.com/transcript?id=GBPRS%2FDEV%2FBAP%2F398125. And I have been unable to find a baptism for this John (there is also one for a John Chappell in 1574, but the son of John - so plenty of Exeter Chappell's at this time).
And it's also not clear which John married Dorothy Roope in May 1590. It could be the son of William or Thomas. However the fact that Dorothy is not mentioned in Thomas perhaps suggests that it may be the other John.
