Around 1894, he emigrated to the United States with his family[3] and lived in Rhode Island, where he worked first as a speeder tender and then as a cord grinder in textile mills.[4][3][5] Based on his 1918 draft registration, he was already married to Elizabeth (Ducharme) Charbonneau.[6] Based on his age of 27 at the time of his first marriage, as cited in the 1930 census, he was married about 1909.[3]. Together they had 5 children: Andrew (1911), Emil (1914), Frederick (1918), Florida (1922), and Mary (1929).
Andrew died 16 June 1945 in Providence and was buried on the 19th in St Joseph's Cemetery, West Warwick.[7]
