Denis Hyacinthe Charland was born on January 31, 1657, in Sillery, Québec, Canada, to Claude Charland and Jacqueline Desbordes.

He married Marie-Anne Létourneau on November 17, 1681, in Ste Famille, île d'Orléans, Québec, Canada.

She died in 1687, and he married Marie Gauthier in 1688.^[1]
