Only Baptismal record found for this is John Charman baptised 7 January 1725 son of Robert and Mary Charman. [1] He was not, therefore son of Elizabeth Knight and, since Elizabeth was still alive in 1725 his father cannot have been Richard Charman. Had he been born out of wedlock it is highly unlikely that his baptism would have been recorded in the way it was (according to the transcriber). Detaching from parents Richard Charman and Elizabeth Knight.
