Lewis Chase was born 22 January 1830 in Turner, Maine to Nathaniel Chase and Eunice Wescott Chase.
He married Elvina Gould Dyer about 1854 in Maine.
Lewis Chase served as Captain in the 14th Regiment, Maine Infantry, Company H.
Before 1875, Lewis and his family moved to Rochester, New York. He was a nurseryman - prominent in the nursery business and founder of the Chase Nursery Company.
Lewis Chase died in 1911 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
