Joanna Chase was born on May 24, 1712 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, daughter of Jonathan Chase (1683–1749) and Joanna Palmer (1680–1756). ^{[1] [2]}

Joanna and James Norris were married. ^[3]

Their son was Thomas Norris, b. about 1743.
