Biography

Marion was a farmer and telegraph operator for the L & N Railroad Company. He was the son of Nicholas and Margaret (Snyder) Chasteen and husband of Mary Francis Williams. Father of Ruth (Chasteen) Cates, Ralph, Geneva, Grace (Chasteen) Hibbard, Ross, Margaret, Edith, Sylvia, May. He moved his family to various counties around Kentucky. Census records show them living in Madison, Rockcastle, Harrison, Garrard, and Lincoln Counties.
