Biography

Nancy Cherry[1], daughter of Samuel M Cherry and Mary Moore, was born about 1770 in Pitt Co NC. In her father's 13 May 1813 will, Samuel named "my daughter Nancey Crisp," so she was married by then (Nancy's sisters Mary and Rebecca also married Crisp men). Nancy’s husband was William W. Crisp, son of Samuel Crisp.
Daughters of Samuel Cherry, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Nancy, in a February 1816 Edgecombe Co will petition contesting their father’s will, Nancy was named as "wife of William Crisp." Nancy died before 1829. Her children were-

i. William James Crisp
ii. Benjamin Crisp was born in Edgecombe Co., NC.
Iii. Brittania Crisp
iv. John W. Crisp, witnessed his grandfather Samuel Crisp's will on 10 June 1829, so was likely born by 1800. John was also a witness of his great uncle, Jesse Crisp's, December 1829 will signing.
v. Courtney Crisp
